Project: Gandria
Cinque Terre of Switzerland.
Project: Gandria
Building description
The Hotel Moosmann was for years a bathing hotel on the beautiful Lake Lugano. The opening was celebrated in the 60’s and was then further expanded in the 80’s. The view is worthy of note: towards Italy, on the one hand, the magnificent mountains line up and you can see where the magnificent mountains line up, or you can fall in love with the glitter of Lake Lugano.
Thus, here, smaller living units are created for the lover of water and mountain views. A beautiful communal garden with seating and private lake access makes the location one of the most beautiful in Switzerland.
Location analysis
Directly at the foot of Monte Brè lies the last Swiss village Gandria before the Italian border. It is known as a lakeside village because the slope of Monte Brè ends right at the shore of Lago di Lugano. Picturesque house facades nestle together over elegant staircases and alleyways and the somewhat remote village is the epitome of peace and quiet. But Gandria is not cut off, the village can be reached easily by bus or car. In the region a lot of wine is grown, cattle are bred, gardening and fishing is done.
In addition, the village is known for its olive trees and therefore for its unique olive oil.
