Building description

Our apartment house with 1.5 to 3.5 room apartments is located in the old town of Herisau in Appenzellerland. All apartment units are covered with high-quality parquet flooring and the wet rooms are covered with decorative tiles. Each apartment is also equipped with a modern kitchen and a combined washing machine and tumble dryer. In addition to the staircase, a lift has been installed so that even higher floors can be reached very easily. The west side of the house is characterized by a balcony and a terrace, which, due to its slightly elevated position, allows a view of the whole of Herisau. The east side offers a view into the historic alleys of Herisau.

Location

The municipality of Herisau was industrialised early on due to the sufficient water power available in the Appenzell region. The textile industry was of particular importance for the prosperity of the community.

In 2003 the town of Herisau was nominated “Alpine Town of the Year”. This nomination honours Herisau for its involvement in support and protection programmes for the Alps. In addition to its passion for nature, Herisau is also known for its family friendliness. The municipality is quiet and peaceful, but offers an exciting cultural programme of traditional events. The alleys, small shops and businesses also invite you to stroll, shop and enjoy.

Last but not least, the German old town of Bad Säckingen is only a stone’s throw away. The city can be reached via the Säckingerbrücke, which is the longest wooden bridge in Europe and a cultural asset of national importance.
